An endless number of small-reflected tesserae pieces form a large elliptic object. The object rotates slowly on its own axis and occupies different quantities of space depending on its position. Following the rotation of the object, the public is invited to dance through the expanding and contracting space...Time goes by, so slowly...

metallic finger chains
dimensions variable
For Open Space 2010, après-nous created a circus-tent-like construction of blue and silver metallic finger chains. Visitors immediately feel like sitting in a manege when taking place below the glistening and flittering big top.
Biography
The Berlin group après-nous, founded by Helga Blocksdorf, Catharina Förster und Florence Girod, has been engaged in the making of temporary site-specific installations in vacant shop spaces since 2000. It is through the opening of the display window that the location becomes a public place. The group’s aim to transform the space is usually coupled with a particular action lifted from the realm of the everyday. Framed in this way every new project gains its theme from the selected action at its base.
