Plywood
183 x 120 x 244 cm
The simple wooden ramp evokes associations of daring motorcycle stunts. Did the rider already venture the dangerous leap over the obstacle or is the ramp still waiting for an intrepid acrobat?

Fireworks, glass, wood
122 x 77 x 77 cm
Like Ramp, Untitled (Contained Explosions #1) also appears to be a relict of a breathtaking stunt. A tall glass cube reveals traces of smoke, standing out on the glass in almost painterly and yet three-dimensional way in shifting shades of gray, as if the smoke were still rising from the smouldering floor. Yet all that remains there are charred, extinguished remnants of fireworks. Rockets and firecrackers suggest a powerful explosion contained by the massive volume of glass.
