Looking at first like an out-of-commission cannon whose dark maw does not betray its contents, this work suddenly astonishes the viewer with a slowly rising rumble that turns into a muffled bang. Yet the shot remains invisible, and the question of the whereabouts of the bold cannoneer is left unanswered.
